Mr. Gilbert Diggs, the young orator of Lower Mathews, will speak in behalf of Woodrow Wilson’s National Democratic Ticket at the following places: Penny, Saturday, Sept. 28, 8 p.m.; Peary, Tuesday, Oct. 1, 8 p.m.; R.C. Brooks’s store, Saturday, Oct. 5, 8 p.m.; New Point, Tuesday, Oct. 8, 8 p.m.; Cobbs Creek, Thursday, Oct. 10, 8 p.m., J.K. Brooks’s store, Laban, Thursday, Oct. 31, 8 p.m.

A baseball game extraordinary, which is expected to be replete with thrills, is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, Sept. 23, at the fairgrounds diamond. The “Safety Razors” (girls) will play the “Powder Puffs” (men). One of the rules of the game is that the “Razors” shall wear bloomers while the “Powder Puffs” must run their bases in long narrow skirts.
