Yorktown’s Sounds of Summer concert series begins Thursday, June 1, at Riverwalk Landing in historic York-town. The Thursday-night concerts are from 6:30 to 9 o’clock through Aug. 10 (no concert July 6). All concerts are free.
The Uptown Band kicks it all off on June 1, followed by a lineup that includes a new act coming to the waterfront—Blackout, an all-male band that plays rock-n-roll hits and funky ’70s and ’80s dance tunes.
This year’s lineup includes: The Uptown Band (June 1), Strictly Bizzness (June 8), Blackout (June 15), Tidewater Drive Band (June 22), Band of Oz (June 29), Brasswind (July 13), The Deloreans (July 20), Cat5 Band (July 27), Slapnation (Aug. 3) and The Main Event Band (Aug. 10).
Visitors are encouraged to arrive before the concerts begin and enjoy dinner or dessert at any of historic Yorktown’s waterfront restaurants, including Water Street Grille, Carrot Tree, Umi Sushi, Ben & Jerry’s, and Yorktown Pub.
