The Yorktown Trolley is expected to be back on the road again on Friday, offering free rides for those visiting the historic sites. The overall route takes an estimated 20 to 25 minutes to complete, and riders can now download the SPOT ETA mobile app to view the estimated wait time at each stop. While the transportation service is bookended by the two main historical attractions of the Yorktown Battlefield Visitor Center and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, there are several stops in between (including the Victory Monument, above). The trolley will operate daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through May 27, with hours expanding from May 28-Sept. 6 to 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and reverting to 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Sept. 7 through Nov. 21. The trolley also operates on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the holiday season (Nov. 26-Dec. 19). For more information, visit www.visityorktown.org.
