York County has closed Yorktown Beach to swimming and sunbathing. This closure includes the National Park Service Beach Picnic Area located at the end of Water Street, as well as the beach west of the Coleman Bridge.
The Yorktown Beach and Riverwalk Landing walkway remain open for pedestrians; however, the rules of social distancing apply. All groups must be of 10 or fewer and must maintain six feet of distance from one another.
The following parking areas are also closed: Upper Level of the Riverwalk Landing Parking Terrace, NPS Beach Picnic Area, Archer Cottage Lot, and York Hall. The public restrooms of Yorktown Beach, and Riverwalk Landing Parking Terrace are also closed. The public restrooms adjacent to the Freight Shed are open.
These steps are being taken to slow the COVID-19 spread and to protect public health. If you have question, call York County at 757-890-3300.
