The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office reported this week that it had dealt with a school shooting threat at Tabb High School in York County.
On Monday, the School Resource Officer assigned to Tabb was made aware of a social media post that a student had made on Sunday, threatening to “shoot up the school.” The SRO made school administration aware of the threat and the student was located at the school and interviewed.
After the interview, the SRO charged the student, a 14-year-old female, with the following charge: Threats of death or bodily injury to persons on school property. This is a felony charge. Further investigation by the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office determined that the student did not have the means to carry out the threat, a release said.
