York County’s third annual Juneteenth celebration will be held from 3-8 p.m. Saturday at the McReynolds Athletic Complex, 412 Sports Way, Yorktown.
This free event welcomes radio host and M.C. Doc Christian of The Groove 101.9 and music by DJ General XO. Also at the event, families can enjoy children’s activities, a bounce house, community groups and guest speakers, food trucks and concessions available for purchase, and free popcorn.
The band SlapNation will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. SlapNation’s performance will be followed by Movies in the Park at 8:30 p.m. featuring “The Little Mermaid” (2023).
Families may want to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets for seating. This is an alcohol-free event.
