The York River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons will hold its annual Book Author Luncheon at noon on Friday, March 20, at Providence Baptist Church, Ordinary.
The guest speaker will be historical fiction writer Connie Lapallo, author of the trilogy “Dark Enough to see the Stars in a Jamestown Sky,” “When the Moon has No More Silver” and “The Sun is But a Morning Star.” The books are based on the story of Jamestown’s first women and children.
A youth reporter for the Richmond News Leader at the age of 16, Lapallo went on to earn a degree in finance from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the University of Georgia. She also spent time working as a tour guide at Berkeley Plantation.
Since 2006, Lapallo has spoken more than 420 times to various schools, clubs, and organizations, sharing the story of Jamestown’s first women and children. She was invited to address the Virginia Monument Commission at the state capitol regarding Virginia’s 17th century women, and she presente...
