Ethan Yard of Gloucester, was the valedictorian of the West Point High School Class of 2024, graduating with his classmates on Friday. A high-achieving student, Yard received numerous awards and accolades at WPHS.
A student athlete, he was a standout member of the school’s track team, placing first in the district in the pole vault and advancing to this weekend’s state tournament. He was awarded $88,700 in scholarships and will attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the fall, where he will study mechanical engineering.
He began his schooling at Ware Academy and then moved to West Point Public Schools in the seventh grade.
