Y takes over day-to-day operations of B&G Club building in Mathews

Day-to-day operations of the Boys and Girls Club building in Mathews have been taken over by the YMCA, according to representatives of the two organizations.
“Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula and YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas are currently engaged in partnership agreement to serve the youth of Mathews out of our club facility,” said BGCVP president and CEO Harold “Hal” B. Smith.
“The Y provides the program portion of the partnership and BGCVP covers all operational expenses, including utilities and routine maintenance associated with the upkeep of the facility,” Smith said. “Regarding the future use of the branch, we are exploring multiple opportunities and options.”
