The Ware River Yacht Club, located on Ware Point Road in Gloucester, is on mission to raise awareness of the club and draw in new members. The club prides itself as being a premier sailing and social club in the county.
According to Joshua James, membership chairperson for the club, WRYC’s current goal is to “showcase the club and the new things we’re doing.”
WRYC is implementing a new trivia night series, summer happy hours and pickleball and tennis socials for members and their guests. The club is also going to hold a community-wide social, “Anchor on the Ware,” in September that will feature sailboats, children’s activities and food trucks.
“We have a lively social program,” said James.
The club is especially seeking parents in their late twenties and early thirties to join as there are plenty of activities available for children to engage in.
