Chesapeake Bay Writers will accept submissions for the 2019 Keating Award from Jan. 1 through March 1, 2019. The Keating Award is an annual literature competition in honor of author and scientist Jean Clarke Keating.
Monetary prizes of $100 for first place, $75 for second place, and $50 for third place will be awarded in the categories of fiction, non-fiction and poetry.
The contest is open to both members and non-members from anywhere in the United States. An entrance fee of $10 for members and $15 for non-members will be collected to help further support the work of Chesapeake Bay Writers, said a press release.
Jeanne Johansen of High Tide Publications will contact first-place winners to discuss their work. Winning pieces will be published in Chesapeake Style Magazine.
