Wray Rhodes, 85, of Gloucester passed way on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, in Sentara Care Plex in Hampton after a long illness.
He was a native of Gloucester and was the son of the late Eugene and Charlotte Selden Rhodes. He was retired from Virginia Power as a service man after many years of service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gloucester and served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Ann Rhodes; his sons, Donald Rhodes and his wife Debbie and Eugene Rhodes and his wife Teresa; his grandchildren, Lori Phillips, Derrick Rhodes, and Anthony Rhodes, and a great-granddaughter Audrey Phillips.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 from 6-7:30 p.m. A graveside service was held on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery by Dr. Douglas Nagel.
