The Woman’s Missionary Society of East Mathews Circuit will have a lawn party in the yard of Rev. W.L. Ware’s on Wednesday the 19th of June, beginning at 6 p.m. We invite every body to come and enjoy the refreshments that will be served by the ladies.

Reports of damage to crops from the excessive rain of the past week or 10 days come from all parts of the county. Many fields were practically ruined, so far as the crops sowed are concerned, by Thursday’s heavy downpour. The accompanying thunder and lightning storm and heavy wind were responsible for much damage to trees, outhouses and other buildings. One or two cases of slight shock from electricity were reported.
