The Mathews County Woman’s Club presented Fenella Vandermolen with a $1,000 scholarship at the club’s annual end-of-year luncheon on June 12. Vandermolen will attend Longwood College and plans to major in business. In addition to her excellent grades, she participated in short-distance track and field indoor and outdoor events. She moved to Mathews three years ago and has enjoyed her time at Mathews High School very much, she said. Pictured with the scholarship recipient are Martha Ellen Traband, at left, and Martha Frame.
