What started as a lawnmower fire at the West Mathews Community League building in Bohannon last Wednesday morning spread to the building itself. The Mathews Volunteer Fire Department responded with two engines and a truck and the fire was quickly put out. The fire destroyed the mower and melted the siding on the building. No one was hurt and damage to the building was minor, according to WMCL president Al DeWitt.
