Winifred W. Thomas “Winnie,” age 85, of Onemo, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2013.

She graduated from Elizabeth Buxton School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She practiced nursing across the state, following her husband, the Rev. William Alan Thomas, on his many Methodist Charges.

Winifred was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the Mathews County Woman’s Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. William Alan Thomas, and a son, A. Gordon Thomas.

She is survived by two sons, William L. Thomas and John R. Thomas; two daughters, Teresa Thomas and Jamie Naab; two sisters, Jean White and Audrey Wilson, and one brother, Richard Leon White, and a brother-in-law, Leonard Wilson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home Chapel, Mathews. The family will receive friends immediately after the service. Burial will be private.
