William L. (Billy) Hudgins of Fountain, Fla., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014.

Billy was born on Aug. 28, 1950, and was a disabled Vietnam Veteran. He earned five Bronze Stars and one Silver Star.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Correira and Arnold (Jimmy) Hudgins.

He is survived by two daughters, Teresa Summerhill and Angel Hudgins; three grandchildren; his brother, James A. Hudgins (Estrella) of Helena, Ala.; three half-sisters, Elena Kiley, Debra Lowe and Lisa Correira; his stepmother, Rose Hudgins of Mathews, Va., and stepfather, Donald T. Correira.

A graveside service will be held in H.C. Smither Memorial Cemetery, Hudgins, Va., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Mathews, is in charge of arrangements.
