William Howard “Yogi” Hill, 56, of Topping, departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013. He was born March 9, 1957.

A unique soul, Yogi was loving and caring, who dedicated himself to being a “people’s man” helping and caring for others in anyway and enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. He will be greatly missed.

Yogi was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Margaret Hill Oakley Sr., and sisters, Teresa Oakley Herd and Barbara Linda Oakley.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Antoine Jackson of Middlesex; step daughter, KuaCeshia Richardson (Shawn) of Highland Springs; three grandchildren, Angel Jackson of King and Queen, Deandre Cook of Yorktown and Davonté Richardson of Highland Springs; two brothers, Edward Hill of Dunnsville, and Wallace Oakley Jr. of Middlesex; six sisters, Lillian Peterson of Norfolk, Jeanette Newman (James), Marjorie Hill, Margaret Anne Hill, Doris Oakley and Frances Oakley, all of Middlesex; an aunt, Blanche Reed (Jim); a former wife, Nancy Hundley Burrell and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at the Lebanon Baptist Church, 11821 Tidewater Trail, Saluda. Interment will be private. The viewing will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.
