William F. “Bill” McMillan, 66, of Gloucester Point, died Oct. 24, 2014 at VCU-MCV Hospital, Richmond.
Bill was retired after more than 42 years of civil service, which he mostly served at the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station as an Engineering Manager. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Gloucester. Bill loved his country and was very caring, kindhearted and funny.
He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Bill and his wife Susie lived on their boat and shared a great love of the water. Bill enjoyed amateur radio, playing golf and driving his Corvette.
He is survived by his wife, Susie McMillan; sisters, Joyce McMillan and husband Leroy Sommerfield, Joan M. Boyle and husband Patrick; brother, James McMillan and wife Joan, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service conducted by the Rev. Dr. Douglas Nagle will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, Gloucester. Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family desires memorial gifts be made in Bill’s name to First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 581, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
