William F. “Bubba” Brooks Jr., age 52, of Locust Hill, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 5, 2014.

He was an avid carpenter and commercial fisherman. He also loved recreational fishing with his friends and playing horseshoes.

He was predeceased by his father, William F. Brooks Sr., and brother, Jimmy Brooks.

He is survived by his children, Lauren Lovejoy (Henry), Ryan Brooks and Brittany Brooks; grandchildren, Lillian and Olivia. He is also survived by his mother, Marie Brooks; sisters, Sue Blake and Tammy Revere (Craig); nieces, Meghan and Morgan Blake and Hailey Brooks; nephews, Austin and Trevor Revere, great-niece, Chloe Hall, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Hermitage Baptist Church, Church View, Va.
