William Edward Proctor, 65, of Hayes, died Aug. 28, 2014.

Edward was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, and was an Instrument Calibrator at Teledyne Hastings Instruments for 42 years. He enjoyed working on cars, woodworking and was always ready to assist anyone who needed his help. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel Jr. and Edith H. Proctor, and brother, Lemuel Proctor III.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Proctor; sister, Daisy Horsley and husband Herman Horsley, brother-in-law, Gilbert Kraemer and wife Christine; sister-in-law, Barbara Proctor; nieces and nephews, Jonathan Kraemer, Jerry and Margaret Horsley, Joyce and Greg Crawford, Herman Horsley Jr., Anita and Mark Ottarson, and Linda and Ted Rodriguez.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Deborah Marion will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at Bethany United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
