William Copeland Pulley, 93, of Wilson, N.C., passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2014.
He was born in Tarboro, N.C., on July 11, 1920 to Charlie Lee Pulley and Mary Helen Thompson Copeland Pulley.
William is survived by his wife of 71 years, Evelyn; his daughters, Bonnie Robbins and husband Bob Robbins of Gloucester, Va., Sharon Hunter and husband Bill Hunter of Wilson, N.C., and son, James Dew and wife Nina Dew of Hartford, Ala. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Bill Grimmer, Wendy Hilliard and husband Jay Hilliard, Elizabeth Virginia Hunter, Mary Catherine Hunter Smith and husband Tom Smith, and one brother, Paul Pulley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Marshall Pulley, Merkle Pulley, Charlie Pulley, Herbert Pulley, Clyde Pulley, and one sister, Mary Frances Plelps.
A graveside service was conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Edgecombe Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. The family received friends and relatives at the home of Bill and Sharon Hunter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Shriners Hospitals for Children and the American Heart Association.
