William “Bill” Marshall Dalton, age 86, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 27, 2023. Bill served 20-plus years in the U.S. Navy and another 20 years in the same job through civil service. Among his many activities, Bill loved to golf, fish, and work in his yard and garden. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Livesay Dalton; his son, Troy Lynn Dalton of Scotland, and his daughter, Priscilla Dalton Wilmoth (Shawn) of New Market, Tenn. Bill has three adult grandsons, Andrew (Wilma), Brandon, and Luke, and two infant great-grandsons, David and James Wilmoth, all of Tennessee. Bill was one of the 12 children of Minnie Rich of whom two are surviving in Morristown, Tenn., Lucille Murphy and Hubert Roy Dalton (Peggy). Too numerous to mention are the host of nieces and nephews whom Bill loved dearly. A memorial service is planned for Spring 2024.
