Wild Ginger, a restaurant serving Asian cuisine at Main Street Center, Gloucester, is under new ownership. Jimmy Wang of Gloucester is the new owner and the restaurant’s head chef. His wife, Qie Lin, is the new manager.
The Wangs both have substantial restaurant experience, including working at Wild Ginger. He has been a chef for 15 years, while his wife has about 10 years’ experience.
Wild Ginger offers lunch and dinner, dinner in and take-out, seven days a week. There are weekly specials and lunch specials.
Wild Ginger captures a lot of tastes, Lin said, including dishes from Asia, Thailand, Japan and China. Among the most-requested dishes are General Tso’s chicken, basil curry chicken, orange chicken, miso soup with seaweed, and hot and sour soup full of bamboo, carrots and tofu.
Lin said that Wild Ginger employs a staff of six, including several of their relatives. Wang and Lin, who are both originally from China, have one daughter, Sophia.
