The Westmoreland Players will present the absurdist romantic comedy “Almost, Maine” Feb. 9-25 at the Westmoreland Players theater in Callao.
Billed as a “Midwinter’s Night Dream,” the play is a series of 10 rapid-fire romantic duets occurring at exactly the same moment on one magical night at various locations in a small town that isn’t actually a town and that doesn’t quite exist, a release stated.
“Almost, Maine” is directed and produced by Nancy Royall, who has directed numerous plays on the Westmoreland Players stage, including “A Sanders Family Christmas” in 2021 and “Sylvia” in 2023.
“‘Almost, Maine’ is in equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking,” she said. “It is one of the most popular plays being produced in regional and community theatres around the world. Its characters and dilemmas will enchant and delight audiences of all ages.”
