The West Point Police Department held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday for its new facility located at 1626 Main Street. This department also celebrated its 25th anniversary. This facility will help continue strengthening community safety and operational capabilities, a release stated. They had a great turnout despite the weather, with around 40 in attendance including King and Queen County Sheriff Rob Balderson, King William Sheriff Jeff Walton, New Kent Sheriff J. Joseph McLaughlin Jr., King William Commonwealth’s Attorney Tiffany Webb, members of the West Point Chamber of Commerce and officers from several different localities. West Point Officer Lisa Danuser played a big role in planning this event; there was cake and refreshments for guests.
