Wesley “Wes” Chambers Morck Jr. of Richmond, died surrounded by family and friends in his sister’s home, Belle Terre, in Ware Neck, Va., on Dec. 23, 2014 after a brief illness.
Wes was born on Oct. 8, 1947, in New York City to Virginia “Diddy” and Wesley Chambers Morck. He was a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.
Wes was an active and dedicated father, always attending and supporting his children’s sports activities. He was an avid boater and golfer as a member of the Virginia Power Boat Association (‘the Boat Club’) and the Country Club of Virginia.
He vacationed as often as possible with family on Pawleys Island in South Carolina where he taught generations of children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins how to ride the waves. His business returned him to Gloucester regularly, where he had many close friends.
Wes is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Alex Peavey; his son, Lee and their mother; and two grandchildren, Bodhi and Sarah Jane, all of Richmond; his sisters, Susan Morck Perrin of Ware Neck, and Virginia A. Morck of London, England.
A memorial service celebrating his life was held on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Ware Episcopal Church in Gloucester, Va., with a reception immediately following at Belle Terre in Ware Neck.
