Wes and Elaine Wilson to lead Saturday’s Gloucester parade

Dr. Wesley Wilson and his wife, Elaine, have been selected as grand marshals for this week’s Gloucester Christmas and Holiday Parade. The annual parade will step off from Main Street Center at 3 p.m. Saturday, making its way down Main Street through Gloucester Court House.
The Wilsons have not only been very active members of the community through their volunteer work, but they are both very passionate about education and the preservation of history.
“We were both speechless,” said Wilson, “never occurred to either one of us obviously. She is very distressed that she is not going to be able to participate (in the parade) because of her health, but she’s proud.”
The Wilsons have been married for 61 years and have four sons: Carl, Michael, Wayne (deceased) and Eric (deceased). When Wilson was asked how they met, his response was “by accident.”
