Wendy Elaine Warrington of Newport News, was called home to heaven on February 6, 2025 after a life of devotion focused on her family.
Wendy was born in Williamsburg, Virginia, on May 16, 1972, where she was adopted by Gerald and Ann Warrington. Wendy grew up in the Dandy community of York County, enjoying living the salt life on Back Creek, playing with her brothers and neighborhood children, and riding her bike. She was a proud York High Falcon until she relocated and was a 1991 graduate of Denbigh High School.
Wendy had an artistic gift which led to a love of fashion and make-up. Ultimately, she went to a technical school in Hollywood, California, to become a licensed, professional make-up artist. She used this gift to own and operate a Merle Norman franchise store in Gloucester.
Wendy was devoted to family and friends—first to her beloved daughter, Brooke, and most recently to her twin grandsons, Ashton and Lucas. While Brooke was growing up, their home was a gathering place for Brooke’s friends, who were always welcomed.
Wendy was a devoted Christian, using prayer and Bible study to nourish her faith and fight against the pulmonary hypertension and congenital emphysema which took her life. Truly love and faith were the medicine that kept her going.
Wendy is mourned by her partner of 29 years, Jeff Roberts; daughter, Brooke Racquel Roberts and her partner Bradley, and grandsons, Ashton and Lucas Hooten. She is also survived by her brother, Dean Warrington, of Virginia Beach. Wendy was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Scott Warrington.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made by donating to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, 1121 14th Street, N.W., Suite 150, Washington, D.C. 20005.
Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of life on March 8, 2025 from 2-4 p.m., in Yorktown, Virginia. Please respond to tinyurl.com/wendycol for location if you plan on attending.
