Mathews County TRIAD is a partnership of the Mathews County Sheriff’s Office, Bay Aging, Mathews Active Lifestyle Center and older or retired persons in the community agreeing to work together. The positive results of this organization’s efforts has been witnessed and felt throughout the county for over 12 years. It was the brainchild of then-sheriff Danny Howlett and then-Captain Ann Shockley.
Mathews TRIAD has held 11 spring Safety Fairs and these have become very popular events, providing information about health, taxes, safety, legal matters, and more.
Last year the planning committee for TRIAD (president Jack Cranford, vice-president Tom Hunley, treasurer Dick Couch and secretary Cheryl Wheeler) started the Senior Open House Fall Fair.
