Much of the area experienced moderate to heavy flooding this past weekend as a storm blanked much of the East Coast. Here, water covers the road on Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Glass and Stonewall roads in Hayes, making it difficult for vehicles to get through. In spite of the flooding, it was beautiful when the sun finally came out. The week of March 10-16 has been designated Virginia Flood Awareness Week.
