Wayne H. Abbott, 63, husband of Barbara Jo Abbott and a resident of Gloucester, passed away on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

A native of Greenville, S.C., he was the son of the late Charles H. and Olivia Childers Abbott. He retired with 29 years of service from the Newport News Shipyard as a crane operator. He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Ark.

Other than his wife, he is survived by a brother, Daryl Abbott of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Janice Traynham of Simpsonville, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Roger Abbott.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Grace Bible Church Cemetery in Ark, with Pastor Ashley Gibson officiating.
