Warm water fishing produces big catches, state sheepshead leader

Warm water fishing is productive for some local anglers, who received citations from the Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament for their catches.
The July 24 posting of vasaltwaterjournal.com lists these winning catches by local anglers:
Cobia, Tristen Jenkins of Hayes, 55 pounds 10 ounces caught July 8 in Mobjack Bay;
Flounder, Robert Davis of Gloucester, 6 pounds 15 ounces caught July 13 in the lower York River;
Red drum, Kalina Hahn of Cobbs Creek, 47-inch fish caught and released July 13 in the Piankatank River; also,
Christopher T. Elkst of Gloucester, 47-inch fish caught and released July 7 in the Rappahannock River;
Sheepshead, Kevin P. Bloxom of Gloucester, 10-pound, 7-ounce fish caught July 14 at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel; also, Ricky Green of Hayes, 11-pound, 6-ounce fish caught July 8 at York Spit Light.
