Ware Episcopal Church will host an evening “supper series,” beginning next Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 5:45 p.m. in the parish hall. The six-week series will be on “The History of the Western Church” and will trace the history of the church from the first apostles through the modern day.
“We’ll be tackling questions like, ‘where did Christian nationalism come from?’ and ‘why can’t Christians seem to agree or get along?” said the Rev. Scott Parnell of Ware Church. “By looking at the history of the Western Church, we ultimately gain a greater appreciation for the world we’ve inherited today, from our system of government to the intersection of faith, science and politics.”
Parnell taught theology for 10 years to middle and high school students. He is currently completing doctoral studies at Sewanee: The University of South.
