Ware Episcopal Church’s summer choral camp has come to a close.
Campers at the Gloucester church concentrated on singing using “head voice” and were also introduced to basic keyboard skills by playing pieces using C position. They were taught how to clap rhythm patterns, played melodic memory games, sang using solfeggio syllables and played pieces on diatonic bells, as well as on piano keyboards. Additionally, each student created a wooden, heart-shaped mosaic art piece using multi-colored glass, glue, grout and paint.
Choir School Director Patti Taylor announced that registration is open for the Ware Church Choral School for second through sixth grade students for the fall semester, which begins Sept. 14 in the Parish Hall Chapel. The semester lasts through Jan. 25.
