Ware Academy opened the 2011 lacrosse season with a 12-3 win over Hanover Lacrosse Club Blue, but dropped a 7-6 match with Collegiate in overtime and slipped 5-3 to Hanover Lacrosse Club White.
Marshall Barrack tallied five goals in the win over Hanover Blue on April 2, Brett Pausic added four, Robert Singleton contributed two and Mark Wilson scored. Clayton Ware dominated at the faceoff and assisted two of Pausic’s goals. Carter Ruse also had an assist.
Despite strong defensive efforts and good offensive runs, the Waves fell to Richmond Collegiate last Friday. In a tight contest, Owen Curry connected with Barrack to notch the match at 6-6 but Collegiate struck for the winning goal late in the second overtime period. Wilson led all scorers with three goals while Barrack had a pair and assisted all of Wilson’s scores. Pausic scored unassisted.
