Ware Episcopal Church will soon bring “Godspell Jr.” to the stage in the church’s first full-length youth production.
While the church has hosted countless Christmas, Bible school and summer camp pageants, this is the first time the church will host a youth play. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, and a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Aug. 5.
The play revolves around the telling of various gospel parables, including the stories of the Good Samaritan, Judas and the Golden Rule.
The idea originated during a tri-parish retreat at Shrine Mont where director Jacqueline Kilduff saw an opportunity to “encourage mentorship” and help “kids looking for performing opportunities in the community.”
