Ware Academy celebrated its boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams last Friday after both teams completed undefeated seasons. Ware Academy’s boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams both finished their seasons undefeated.
Both teams competed in the Independent School Athletic Conference, as well as the Peninsula Independent Athletic League, and were named conference champions.
While Ware has traditionally participated in ISAC, this was its first year competing in the PIAL which includes schools from Newport News, Hampton and Williamsburg. The Ware Waves were top seed in both championships and hosted the PIAL in Gloucester.
