Ware Academy welcomed students with an open house and back-to-school picnic on Sept. 7 and an opening convocation on Sept. 8. The school has 140 pupils in its pre-kindergarten through eighth grade programs, including 29 new families this fall, according to Admissions Director Jill Quinlan.
Ware has also added three new members to its staff.
Chris Aycock is the new director of development at the school. A graduate of Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond, Aycock received a bachelor of arts degree in communication from East Carolina University in 2004. He was formerly the assistant director of development at Trinity, focusing on alumni relations, events, capital campaigns and annual giving.
Regina South and Sarah Williams are new to the Ware faculty. South, a Gloucester native, holds a bachelor of music degree from Christopher Newport University and gives private voice and piano lessons. She is also the music director at Grace United Methodist Church in Newport News. South will te...
