Gary and Karen Ward are the owners of two popular Gloucester County restaurants—Olivia’s in the Village in Gloucester Court House and Scoot’s BBQ at the Point.
They also have been given the honor of being grand marshals for this Saturday’s Gloucester Main Street Christmas and Holiday Parade. Both Gary and Karen Ward were born and raised in Gloucester County and have been in Gloucester their entire lives. Married for 27 years, they have one daughter.
“We were surprised when we were told about it, but we are proud and excited to be honored in the community that we love,” said Gary.
“We are honored, humbled and excited,” added Karen.
The annual parade, which kicks off the holiday season in Gloucester, begins at 3 p.m., starting from Main Street Center and winding its way through the Gloucester Court Circle. More than 40 floats, bands and community groups will take part.
The festivities continue at 5 p.m. with the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree inside the Court Circle.
