The Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society announced last week that appointments are no longer required to visit the shelter and walk-in visitors are now welcome.
Visitors can stop by anytime during business hours, which are Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. The shelter is closed to the public on Tuesdays.
While visiting the shelter, which is located at 6620 Jackson Lane in Gloucester, guests will be allowed to walk through the kennel and cat mall.
For those considering adoption, GMHS asks that they submit an adoption questionnaire prior to visiting the shelter. This will allow the GMHS adoption team to contact the adopters’ veterinarian for records and/or their landlord for permission, as well as discovering the personality and pet that will be best suited for their family.
