Wainola Inez (Campbell) Holloman, age 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 20, 2014.
Among her many accomplishments, Inez founded the Holloman Child Development Centers in 1972, was twice elected Virginia’s Small Business Person of the Year, was appointed by President Carter to serve as Chairperson of the White House Conference for Small Business Region 3. She was a founding member of the Proprietary Child Care Association of Virginia and worked with State Senators and House members to help forge child care policies and legislation for the Commonwealth of Virginia. She received two gubernatorial appointments from Governor Wilder and Governor Allen. She retired in 1996 and most recently had enjoyed living at The Arbors of Port Warwick in Newport News, Va.
Being one of eight children herself, she is survived by her sister, Lowrell Bryant and her husband Bill Bryant, and her children Bonnie Holloman, Betty Holloman Shreve and her husband Roy Wayne Shreve, Vernon Lee Holloman Jr. and his wife Catherine York Holloman, and Bart Holloman and his wife Jan Holloman. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Justin Holloman and his wife Addilynn Holloman, Ryan Holloman and his wife Chanelle Holloman, Elizibith Dalton and her husband Patrick Dalton, Douglas Lawerence Holloman, Audra Shreve Mearns and her husband Craig Mearns, Sarah Shreve Hubbard and her husband Darrin Hubbard, Joshua Shreve and his wife Maggie Knight Shreve. Inez was great-grandmother to Corbin Holloman, Bourke Holloman, Brett Holloman, Conrad Mearns, Eleanore Mearns, Jasmine Mearns, Isaac Shreve and William Hubbard.
Inez’s life will be remembered and friends may meet with family members at the Holloman Child Development Center at 4900 George Washington Mem. Hwy. in Yorktown, Va., on the afternoon of Jan. 25, 2015 from 2-3:30 p.m.
