Voters to receive postcards with redistricting info

Mathews voters will soon be getting postcards in the mail from the Virginia Department of Elections to give them information about this year’s statewide redistricting.
Mathews Voter Registrar Carla Faulkner said that all voters in the state should expect to get such cards as a follow-up notification to let them know of any changes that were made that would affect them.
In Mathews, there were no precinct changes, said Faulkner, so voting locations remain the same and voters do not need to re-register. No action at all is needed from the voter, said Faulkner, emphasizing that the postcard is for information purposes only.
She said that the only things that changed for the county were the numbers for the Virginia Senate and House of Delegates districts. The county was previously in Senate District 6 and will now be in Senate District 26, she said, while the House of Delegates number was 98 and will now be 68. These numbers will be reflected on the postcard.
