Volunteer Open House at Historic Christ Church

Persons interested in having a little fun mixed with history are invited to come to Historic Christ Church and Museum’s Volunteer Open House from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12.
Those attending can learn more about Christ Church at Weems, which was completed in 1735 and is Lancaster County’s only National Historic Landmark, and about HCC&M’s work to share the church’s unique history with visitors from around the world.
Attendees can meet staff members and other volunteers; tour the church, museum, and research library; and learn about the volunteer opportunities available at the historic site.
Volunteers have long been the heart and soul of the organization, a release stated. Volunteers enjoy special opportunities like continuing education programs led by noted scholars, bus trips and behind-the-scenes tours of other historic sites, a book club, musical and living history performances inside the 1735 church, volunteer parties and recognition events.
