Vivian Olivia Powell Hudgins of Hampton, died peacefully at the age of 92 on Sept. 15, 2011 at the home of Arlene Smith and her grandson, Brian Dawes surrounded by family.

She was born on July 26, 1919 in Mathews, Va. to Omega and Mamie Powell. She lived and worked in
Williamsburg in hotel management and later for many years as a companion and nanny.

She was a long-standing member at Warwick Assembly of God in Hampton. She was a very special lady with a special smile. Her enduring strength provided a firm foundation for her wonderful family.

She is survived by daughter, Ann Dawes of Hampton; a son, Waverly P. Hudgins and wife Kathy of Mathews. Her grandchildren include Brian Dawes, Sherry Bouthillet, Melanie Brooks, Angela Ochsenfeld, Theresa Soles, Dean Hudgins, and 12 great-grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Bethel Temple Atrium on Todds Lane in Hampton.
