Visiting Chancellorsville

Members of the Capt. Sally Tompkins chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy took part recently in a four-hour tour of the Chancellorsville Battlefield through Fredericksburg Tours. Participants said that the tour gave them a much clearer understanding of the military, political and historical elements and results of the campaign, a release stated. Here, the group stands by the National Park Service monument denoting the area where Gen. Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson received what would be his fatal wound in May 1863.
