The Virginia Wildlife Grant Program is open for applications to connect people to the outdoors. Operated by the Department of Wildlife Resources, the grant program is designed for “Organizations that are connecting people to the outdoors through programs focusing on archery, boating/paddling, fishing, shooting sports and wildlife viewing. Programs/projects should take place during the dates of March 2024 through December 2024,” an announcement said.
Applications can be found on dwr.virginia.gov; search for Virginia Wildlife Grant Program.
Grants are funded by the VDW partner Wildlife Foundation of Virginia, and through donations made in connections with license fees, and sales of VDW merchandise, the announcement said.
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1.
