VIRGINIA OLIVER JENKINS

Virginia Oliver Jenkins, 88, of Gloucester, died March 27, 2014 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

Virginia was a native of Gloucester and very active in the Lewis B. Puller Center. She loved to cook and entertain her family, crochet, and was very creative. She loved her family and was very generous and kind to them. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by husbands, James M. Rowe and Jack A. Jenkins Sr., and son, Mortie Rowe.

She is survived by her daughters, Annette Harrell and Kathryn West; son, Jack A. Jenkins Jr.; three grandchildren, Donald Harrell and wife Mary Lou, Ed Harrell and Christopher Quartermench; two great-grandchildren, Ray Harrell and Jay Harrell; three sisters, Lydia Rilee, Ruby Ann Abbott and Sarah Hubbley, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Walter Reed Convalescent Center for the care and support given to Virginia and her family.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Dr. Clint Miller was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service on Sunday from 1:30-2:30 at the funeral home.
