Jeremy Pilkerton of Loveville, Maryland, held off Ray Love Jr. of La Plata, Maryland, to take home the victory in the Victory Lap Pro Late Models at Virginia Motor Speedway, on Saturday, the opening night of the 2023 season for the Middlesex County dirt track.
“I’m not sure I could have caught Bud Stinson, my car was a little free. I hate what happened on the last lap but we were going for the win,” commented Pilkerton in victory lane.
In the Budweiser Modified 25 lap feature, two-time defending Champion Chase Butler of Mechanicsville took the lead on lap two from Rick Hulson of Glen Burnie, Maryland, and never looked back taking the win.
In the Truckin’ Thunder Sportsman 25 lap feature, Brett Adkins of Saluda took the lead from his outside starting position on the drop of the green flag. Atkins held a two-second lead over defending champion Tim Shelton of Fredericksburg for much of the first 18 laps.
