VIRGINIA ‘JINNY’ ANN KRAMS REED

Virginia “Jinny” Ann Krams Reed, loving and devoted pastor’s wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, Master Cross-Stitcher, bicyclist, pianist, aviator, bridge player, gardener, editor, theologian, badminton star, church choir director, avid reader, word puzzle solver, DAR member, nature lover, and supporter of the less fortunate, departed this world on March 15, 2024, at the venerable age of 95, leaving behind rich threads of memories that shall endure time. Throughout her life, Jinny loved traveling to national and state parks across America with her beloved husband Fred, family, and friends. The Outer Banks was a favorite family and friends’ reunion destination. Her love for family, friends, and the church was boundless, her devotion unwavering, and a beacon of strength for all those she loved. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, the Rev. Fred Reed; parents, Adolph and Verna Krams; brother, Adolph Krams, and daughter, Sally Reed Demuth. Jinny is survived by son, Rick Reed from Birmingham, Ala., and three daughters, Patty Reed Howard from Jackson, Ky., Anne Zara and Rebecca Reed from Gloucester, Va.; three nieces; four nephews; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and loving friends from Abingdon Episcopal Church, Groves Memorial Church, the communities of Perryville, Ky., Campbellsville, Ky., and Speed, Ind., and Gloucester County where the Rev. Reed pastored. Memorial service conducted by the Rev. Sven vanBaars will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Abingdon Episcopal Church, 4645 George Washington Memorial Hwy., Gloucester, Va. 23061.
